An appealing blend of recent Cass McCombs, Ryley Walker and even The War on Drugs on occasion - the songs themselves could, and maybe should, have been a dash more distinctive.
Other You is the fifth studio album for singer/songwriter/guitarist Steve Gunn and the third project i’ve checked out by him and he’s definitely shown a consistency in quality. Gorgeously arranged psych rock from the Kurt Vile collaborator. Understated, quiet songwriting: listless, contemplative, and immediately affecting. Don't miss out.
