Legitimately their only less than amazing album and it's still really fucking good.
It says a lot about a group when their worst album is still better than like 50% of the stuff in that genre. However, compared to their other stuff, before and after this album, this is quite a step down, production-wise and instrumentally. Extremely underrated album. Most death fans forget this exists since it come between Human and Leprosy, but this album is sorta hinting at that tech death style we all love
I swear with every listen I'm going from "god, this is shitty" to "god, this is brilliant".
Going through their Discog a little randomly but I'll pick back up in order after this. I wasn't sure about this album at first. It started to come off like any other death-metal album to more for the first three tracks. Albeit a massive step up in sound from the debut, I wasn't sold quite yet.
