Fucking wow
This is the first album I have heard from Death, and yeah it is pretty fantastic. Every song slaps. The subject matter is on point. The flow is amazing. Mixing, production, and everything technical is really solid.
Basically, this is just S tier in every way. A must listen for any metal head.
Finally, we reach the end of the road with Death and what an explosive final album for the legendary band to end on, The Sound of Perseverance. and although this may be unpopular opinion this is my 2nd favorite record from their technical era, I'm sorry but I love guitar work and the guitar work on this album is some of my absolute favorite.

Ooooo a little bit of a vocal shift
CT: This final album has pushed Death into my top 3 fav metal bands 110%. This was just slightly worse than Symbolic and popped in every way. Every album in Death's discography is good and worth listening to. If you're seeing this planning to get into them, I'd fully recommend going through this band chronologically because the masterful shift into this new sound is absolutely breathtaking. RIP Chuck - you were a phenomenal vocalist and guitarist.
Metal isn't my favorite or most listened-to genre by far, but my attention was drawn to this since I heard it has a lot of math-rock/prog-rock influences used in a metal style. It also has a pretty cool album cover, to be honest (I love it when an album cover illustrates the sound of the actual music).
