Very different to his latest album with a more trad alt country approach and strident vocals - it isn't as good as 'Mutable Set' but the approach is warming on me.

Even on this first effort you can hear how good he is at sprinkling addictive chewy bits into his songs.

CRIMINALLY OVERLOOKED AND UNDERRATED.

S-Tier recommendation from my friend Nicholas Gardner, a.k.a. EFIL.

On his debut LP, Blake Mills introduces himself as a male Laura Marling, with engaging songs imputable to memorable melodies and beautifully written lyrics.

Very Jeff Tweedy-ish, some decent moments and sparks of great writing but just felt pretty uninspired and derivative
