The new album by Abel is good news for everyone who loved the stylistic approach he took on with 2020's After Hours, delivering song after song with the same flashy and purposely over-produced synth-pop he so successfully pulled off on the impressive predecessor, this time with narration from Jim Carrey and a Tyler, the Creator feature.

The result is yet another successfully pulled-off pop album to his name, one that is easy to listen to and hard to dislike. Still, the songs are a little too ... read more

Launched almost out of the blue, Dawn FM embodies the concept and makes you feel like you're on a journey with 80's radio songs.
The production is delicate and surprisingly engaging after several listens

More like... Trash FM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Really fun follow up to After Hours. Great production and lyrics though "Take My Breath", "Sacrifice" and "Out of Time" overshadow the rest of the project for me

NR

One of the best weekend albums, great production and vocals along with an exciting album theme!

acredito que posso afirmar que esse é o melhor trabalho do abel até hoje! o conceito que radio que ele criou dentro do album foi muito bem executado, é como se realmente estivesse ouvindo uma estação nos anos 90/00s.

melhores faixas: sacrifice, take my breath, gasoline e dont break my heart

On my initial listen, Dawn FM felt like a monotonous, uninspired continuation of his 2020 magnum opus, After Hours. Now, after my second listen, my criticisms remain the same, but I appreciate its content far more. Overall, Dawn FM is a pretty decent album if you ignore the laughable lyricism on "Here We Go... Again" (which he almost makes up for with his stunning vocals) and the lack of sonic variety throughout.

Favorite Track: Less Than Zero

Clean transitions, the synths are perfect throughout the album and I love the radio theme of the album. I think the album starts very strong with perfect songs although some of the songs in the middle are kinda mediocre but at least doesn't mess up the album that much except the Lil Wayne feature which is a big no no.

Let's see how this trilogy will end

This shit shows me memories I don't have. This shit takes me back to the 80s and I wasn't even alive, the pure nostalgia factor of this album itself is amazing. Of course, that would be the most amazing part if the music itself wasn't fucking fantastic. This album is a near-death experience, every time I hear a synth I near fucking climax (which is extremely unhealthy when this album is cum-splattered with synth porn.

Oh hey, it's a new album from The Weeknd. And this time, it's actually pretty good and doesn't get tiring after a while!

I got hooked when the album started, but the songs got weaker for me in the second half of this, which is funny because I thought of the opposite for After Hours. Songs like 'Gasoline,' 'Sacrifice,' and 'How Do I Make You Love Me' are such unique-sounding songs, even if elements of '80s synthpop and disco are very present in them, and they are just such a breath of fresh air ... read more

If this is the closest thing I can get to new daft punk in 2022 then I’m ok with it

The emphasis of poppy elements in this album plays to its detriment. It is not only more poppy than After Hours, but more conceptual as well, which makes for a sort of oxymoronic vibe and message.

I think there is a trend in pop music right now to make music with a retro sounding style (80s, 70s, etc.) but to also make it sound incredibly clean, because, after all, we live in an age where it is easy to make music with little to no audio defects (as opposed to when someone made music in the ... read more

This album is pretty good, it got the vibes, just feel like The Weeknd isn't really trying to do new shit in this album. Take My Breath was incredible because of the risk, generic The Weeknd, still the goat but generic. Pretty solid in conclusion.

I've never listened through a full album by The Weeknd. He just seemed like a boring mainstream pop artist that would release big hits I would hear all the time. But this album surprised me and I really liked it. It felt like being taken through a musical experience, and the experience was good. I was impressed. I look forward to more by Abel.
