Billy Bragg's first album worth hearing since 2013's Tooth & Nail. The English singer-songwriter's most contemporary and easily-palatable set of songs, leaving behind most traces of his far-left politics, and more challenging, confrontational songwriting. These are more mellow, stripped-down folk tunes, with which he reaches a new level of ease, comfortability and maturity while keeping in tact the depth and articulation of his songwriting.
