At Cry Baby’s core, the singer unfurls a series of saccharine nursery rhymes that are truly, deeply unsettling. It rattles you with a painted smile.

Cry Baby shows that Martinez is admirably ambitious, but her insistence on sticking to the album's central idea leaves her contorting into uncomfortable positions.

I went to see Run the Jewels in 2015 and was the second person in line. The guy in front of me had a similar stature, another tall and skinny white kid with tattoos and a band tee. I noticed there was an influx of younger girls standing to join the line behind me, I didn't think anything of it as RTJ are pretty accessible to the general public. About twenty minutes later I knew something was up as there were dozens of young girls in clown make up behind me now, I turned to one of the clowns and ... read more

stupid and generic. although there are some clever lyrics and decent melodies, the theme of this LP is batshit retarded. focused on being a child and having childlike features gets old after 2 songs, and having actual counds from a sippy cup do NOT help your album be more "creative". a really cringy album

throwback to when i was obsessed with crybaby. and slowly but surely the numbers go down.
im not going to lie, in some of the songs its lyrically clever and melanie has a "unique" story going on but its a bit too weird for me.
instrumentals are generic and occasionally catchy but that's as far as it goes.
however, i will actually listen to her upcoming album (if it ever comes out) just to see if there's a little altering happening. but till then, she's pretty meh
