All Day Gentle Hold is Porches’s punchiest and most concise album to date.

AllMusic

A 25-minute blast of brief, confused, oversaturated synth rock tunes, All Day Gentle Hold! is over before you know it but won't soon fade from memory.

On his fifth album, Aaron Maine is having more fun, writing more playfully, staying out of his own head. It’s some of his most succinct and enjoyable songwriting to date.

As a whole, All Day Gentle Hold ! isn’t quite engaging enough to cut through the static in an oversaturated niche ... However, it does manage to strike a balance between the stylish sass of post-fame Porches and the elegiac sulking of the act’s early era.

Even with its economical run time, All Day Gentle Hold ! can still be exhausting, mainly for how the ideas start to dry up around the halfway point.

Although Aaron Maine and his Porches project made a initial splash with me through his 2016 album Pool, follow-up projects The House (2018) and last years Ricky Music didn’t leave any lasting impression on my ears, but luckily Maine returns to writing catchy and engaging tunes on his newest release All Day Gentle Hold ! LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: In a Fashion

Porches' new album is a collection of short, sweet songs for the end of the summer. Tracks like Lately, I Miss That and Back3School combines this electronic sound Porches has been crafting their whole career with a catchy pop sound. Grab The Phone, Comedown Song and Swarvoski have a ... read more

Idk I just found this one so boring aside from three very stellar tracks.

A significant improvement from "Ricky Music." There are glimpses into some of the the otherworld emotion that was captured on Pool, but it's seem to have faded slightly. Appropriated for a more digitized audience while still catering to TikTok lingo.

probably his most narrow album sound wise which is fine as there are some bangers but a lot of tracks just don't stand out
