All Day Gentle Hold is Porches’s punchiest and most concise album to date.

AllMusic

A 25-minute blast of brief, confused, oversaturated synth rock tunes, All Day Gentle Hold! is over before you know it but won't soon fade from memory.

On his fifth album, Aaron Maine is having more fun, writing more playfully, staying out of his own head. It’s some of his most succinct and enjoyable songwriting to date.

As a whole, All Day Gentle Hold ! isn’t quite engaging enough to cut through the static in an oversaturated niche ... However, it does manage to strike a balance between the stylish sass of post-fame Porches and the elegiac sulking of the act’s early era.

Even with its economical run time, All Day Gentle Hold ! can still be exhausting, mainly for how the ideas start to dry up around the halfway point.

i know julie is mad as HELL that this man keeps writing songs about her

edit: okay but im kind of obssesed with this i think the fact that its short doesn't mind me because it honestly plays like a successful album, a lot of the songs are really fun and punchy

After a few real stinkers in a row, Porches put out what may be their best set of tunes since “Pool”. Aaron Maine on this album pushes the “Hard Reset” button and takes things back to basics, but that’s not a bad thing. This is easily his quirkiest, most fun and catchy tunes in a while. And while short, sweet, and a little straightforward at times, it’s all I really wanted at the end of the day.
