DS4EVER is proof he presumably won’t allow stardom to make him complacent, balancing improvements in song topics and technical skill, even if the drip talk has gone stale.

Exclaim!

DS4EVER is certainly a good mainstream rap record, and fans of Gunna and the community of high-profile Atlanta artists he's aligned with will find plenty to enjoy across the album's 19 tracks.

Rolling Stone

Gunna has a flashy and intoxicating vocal style, and that alone DS4 a worthy escapade. But he can’t transcend the clichés that define his era.

Pitchfork
The Atlanta rapper’s latest album is monotonous, short on the quirks and out-of-body experiences of his better projects.

AllMusic

After tunnelling into a very specific avenue for WUNNA, DS4 loses focus, instead spreading the rapper thin across a much wider smattering of styles. The resulting project feels noncommittal: DS4 is caught between the woozy, floating sounds of WUNNA and an older, heavier-hitting sound, yet nails neither.

'DS4EVER', Gunna's fourth installment in the Drip Season mixtape series is great, expanding the world of Gunna's music as he's made everything from bangers to love songs on this, in contrast to his atmospheric previous project. As Gunna would say, he's 'Pushin P' throughout the project, trying as much as he can, working with new artists and producers, never lacking on the creativity to come up with a really cool mixtape that's doesn't get stale even for a second. Would consider this the ... read more

pushin P is enjoyable. The rest is boring. A common pattern for Gunna unfortunately.

When WUNNA came out I finally understood where Gunna's music works, DS4EVER however regresses his sound back to his more boring roots.
