gunna, when you opened up for travis in boston I was in the pit almost front row dancing and loving life then right after drip too hard you pointed at me and said “look at this fat nigga dance” and people around me laughed at me so I went to the back and watched the rest of the show from a distance.... my question is why did you do that?

good album btw

'DS4EVER', Gunna's fourth installment in the Drip Season mixtape series is great, expanding the world of Gunna's music as he's made everything from bangers to love songs on this, in contrast to his atmospheric previous project. As Gunna would say, he's 'Pushin P' throughout the project, trying as much as he can, working with new artists and producers, never lacking on the creativity to come up with a really cool mixtape that's doesn't get stale even for a second. Would consider this the ... read more

NO NUANCE REVIEW

Does Gunna…LIKE music? I’m not fully convinced he does.

LMAO THERE ARENT EVEN ANY GENUINE REVIEWS ITS J A BUNCH OF MFS RATIOING EACH OTHER

update: it’s basically just above average background music. i mean it’s okay… but it’s not anything i wouldn’t expect from him already. like the most engaging thing to come from this drop is his old, reignited beef with Freddie Gibbs (which was a stupid move btw cause Freddie don’t let shit go until he has the last word)

Sure, Gunna and his friends might occasionally (often honestly) say some really stupid shit. Lil Baby calls himself an alpha male. But when the album is at its best, the vibes are great. The beats all sound fantastic, and Gunna does a good job flowing on these tracks. I enjoyed it front to back. The length of this project wasn’t as big of an issue as I thought it would be. Sure it’s still got filler out the ass, but it’s Gunna. If he can keep the wave going, it’s ... read more

Unsurprisingly, Gunna drops another bloated, generic, boring and mediocre project. Production-wise 'DS4EVER' is oftentimes pretty solid and Gunna does pick some genuinely great beats here, but some of them feel very hit-or-miss with them often sounding blatantly generic or trying way too hard to have some kind of psychedelic flair. Either way Gunna does what he does best and ruins these beats with incredibly flat, lifeless and mind-numbing performances with very hit-or-miss flows and ... read more

Unsurprisingly, Gunna put out exactly what I expected with DS4EVER, which means another decent but ultimately pretty boring and not all that captivating album with some decent features and production.

I know many people tend to dislike Gunna’s music, but I usually don’t think that his music is all that bad. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not very good either, but he tends to have some solid production and features, so it’s at least decent a lot of the time. Coming into ... read more

Yes, the album is bloated, but so is Gunna.

I don't see the problem here.

"I just fucked a cup of water" ~Thugger

What the hell does "pushin' P" even means?!

Gunna returns with yet another Drip Season, and, if I'm being completely honest, it isn't as good as his other records, but it still feels decent enough to enjoy. I mean, damn, I fw the energy boost he shows here, but I still prefer the vibes, slower style that he mainly went for until now. At the same time, I do ... read more

DS4EVER is full of tracks, but with few stories to tell. Gunna's third studio album, unfortunately, ratifies that, despite the years, the musician's discography, so far, has not had great evident advances. With lame diction, distorted vocals, and traditional trap beats, it's not hard to get lost during the experience of listening to the LP. The compositions are also not pleasant and, eventually, they are pathetic, as in the excerpt "[...] Dropped the dot and then we plot, exotic Ps; she ... read more

If you like Gunna then you will probably like this mixtape. If you don't then this will definitely not change your opinion of him. I found this to be a similar experience to most of my other Gunna listens where I will take the 4-5 bangers from this album and then move on. There's definitely quite a bit of filler here.

Favorite tracks: poochie gown, mop. thought i was playing, idk that bitch, so far ahead > empire
Least favorite: life of sin

Some cool production on here, shame that it's gunna rapping on them

I went in to this optimistic because I do enjoy some good trap music but honestly Gunna often comes across a bit too lazy. He really does sound like a Thugger clone but no where near as creative and good. Gunna has many great ideas here but doesn’t seem to work with much effort and many of the songs feel unfinished. After a long track list, a few highlights pop up here and there but much of this album is simply kind of forgettable, not bad, but forgettable.

Gunna's meteoric rise to trap stardom is a prime example of label nepotism at work. Being introduced to Thug through a mutual friend, and such encounter leading to a YSL alignment, and major mixtapes with Carti, Offset, Uzi and Baby not long after, has propelled the rapper into astronomical heights that would have never been achieved through his mostly mediocre presence on the microphone. It's no secret that Gunna spent his first few years in the limelight desperately trying to escape Young ... read more

CATCH-UP WEEK: Jan 2022 Ep. 01 [Gunna]

Unfortunately for Gunna, 'DS4EVER' seems to veer away from the captivating, minimalistic appeal he has been a proud ambassador for within the trap sphere. Instead the album relies on conformity and gimmicks in order to rally attention for a project so early in the year.

Gunna is known for his woozy yet hypnotising flow paired with smooth and syrupy production that creates a distinct trap flavour for the rapper I feel he has only grown stronger with as ... read more

(Apologies for the incredibly long break as well as for this review being shorter than mine usually are. There's not a whole lot to say about this project)

Gunna releases another bland, uninteresting album with nothing that sets it apart from his other releases.

At this point, I’ll really just always expect this type of thing from Gunna. For someone who’s reached his level of success within the industry, he really sounds like he could care less about music on this project. I ... read more

Just listened to this once so far, I'll write a review on it if I am sure how I feel about it. All I can say so far is that this is the best Drip Season, maybe could be even better than Wunna and especially the whole track run from "25k jacket" to "so far ahead > empire" is probably the best and most consistent track run we will ever get from Gunna. Really good record

Favorite Tracks: private island, poochie gown, mop, thought i was playing, 25k jacket, too easy, idk ... read more

U🅿️ until now, I truly fail to understand the a🅿️🅿️eal of Gunna's music, because I could not find anything unique or entertaining about his style. I guess D24EVER is the most coherent Gunna album to date, but I still struggle to see the hy🅿️e. I will say, the beats at least start off with a wavy, atmos🅿️heric vibe, as Wheezy 🅿️roduction usually does, but even that starts to falter as the album drags on across its 19 tracks. That's about the biggest com🅿️liment ... read more

Thought it was easy, alotta cake and too easy go hard af, rest is for the most part your uninspiring underwhelming generic mainstream trap song that u forget one minute after listening to it, occasionally with a mediocre feature (not 21 savage tho my man is on fire)

I also wished Gunna would make a proper Freddie disstrack cause there is no way Freddie is gonna reply to :" I can't fuck with Freddie Gibbs..."

Summery of the album: Imagine sleeping and someone splashes cold water on your face, that's every feature on the album. Take that as a good or bad thing it still happens.
BEFORE YOU SAY ANYTHING I like Gunna and I usually give trap albums an easy time, but this release felt skippable. My favorite rap album of 2021 was by Babytron, so it's not like I hate having fun. In DS4EVER, the beats were alright, the flow that everyone sucks Gunna off for was alright, I don't even want to mention lyrics ... read more
