Beats Per Minute

As grave as it is grand, Bo Jackson is an album that feels deceptively immediate. The Alchemist has opened the doors wide on this one, inviting us in without restraint, right into the awaiting jaws of Boldy James’ slickly sinister, bubbling vision.

The Detroit rapper and the famed producer rejoin forces for a spare, melancholy, and psychedelic album, solidifying their partnership as one of the most rewarding team-ups in hip-hop.

Wow. I am not normally a Boldy James guy, Alchemist couldn't even win me over on last year's Price Of Tea. But uh.. this shit is great. No if's, and's, or but's, this is a quality project. Boldy has a bit more enthusiasm in his voice then normal, and it does great to compliment the always-sensational production from Alc. I now crown this as Boldy James's best album to date. Boldy's flow seems to have massively improved since Price of Tea in China. The Alchemist's production on here rivals that of Alfredo. With lyrical heavyweights like Roc Marciano, Benny the butcher, Freddie, and Earl, Bo Jackson is another win to Boldy and Al's discog as well as one of the best hip hop releases to come out this year so far.

Boldy's flow is COLDER than ever and Alc's production is godly!
45 min never felt so short..
Easily the best hip hop album of the year so far for me
Boldy James reconnects with Uncle Al to create an intricate and cohesive classic hip-hop experience, even if "Bo Jackson" sounds a little too comfortable for the duo, these two are simply too talented to make something "average".

The Alchemist should need no introduction. The legendary producer has been one of the most hard-working and iconic producers of the past decades. His sample-heavy aesthetic has driven a whole underground gangsta rap scene for years and years. ... read more
