On Illusory Walls, The World is a Beautiful Place give a lot and only ask for some of your time, patience and attention in return. At every interval, they make it worth your while.

Slant Magazine

The World Is a Beautiful Place’s Illusory Walls feels like the awakening that the band has been building toward all along.

Despite trimming themselves down to five members, Illusory Walls finds the band at their most adventurous and resolute. They’re downright progressive, and damn near metal at times.

Beats Per Minute

Illusory Walls is a definitive document of the power of their combined ability and belief.

The band’s dense and ornate fourth album sacrifices intimacy and warmth in favor of the most technically proficient and hard-hitting music of their career.

Their combination of emo, post-rock and power pop moves so much further past their contemporaries, and that is more than proven on their new album: "Illusory Walls". Right from ... read more
This is a really gorgeous lp that doesn’t feel as long as it is. Slow passages compliment the more heavy sections within the relatively long tracks. Each track is a journey that I happily float along to.
