CRITIC REVIEWS

Louder Than War

A massive step forward from the debut and another album of the year to me. Weird, wonderful, hypnotic and catchy with a few dancefloor bangers that will surely make them clubland hotshots in the ever so near future.

80
Uncut

Evangeline Ling and David Wrench have stuck to their guns and found comfort in the chaos of their collaboration for Astro Tough, smoothing out some ofthe kinks.

80
Loud and Quiet

If Wrench’s masterful production is the expertly-made canvas, it’s this storytelling which gives the record its colour, and combined they make a brilliant piece of art.

80
Clash

Abnormal and mystifying, audiobooks amplify bewilderment on a remarkable second album.

70
AllMusic

A welcome evolution from the debut, Astro Tough's lingering inconsistency is part of the fun.

The Line of Best Fit

Consistency may still be a struggle, but when they get it right, Audiobooks’ unsettling brand of musical chaos makes for an impressive sophomore album that is every bit as effervescent as their debut.

60
Mojo

Whether exposing internal monologues or embracing surrealist pop, Audiobooks' adoption of absurdity continues to confound in the most delightful ways.
