LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: Spinning

I <3 the DIY scene.

On Jail Sock's first album, they really push the agenda of "5th wave twinkly emo". The guitars on Caving In, On the Run, Coming Down and Peace of Mind really have that new emo sound to it and it's done right. Songs like Point Pleasant are somewhat forgettable with the vocals and lyrics but the liveliness and just young-and-free push on the instrumentals makes the song an ear worm.

Jail Socks find that happy little pocket where magic happens where Pop punk / Indie / and emo collide. The twinkly and shining optimism that we also see a little bit with OSO OSO. A toe tapping album to bob around too. A bit of it feels a bit surface level, but the good production and harmonizing makes elevates it to a place where it's hard to point anything out that is not working.
