The Arts Desk
The queen of hip hop soul shows no sign of abdicating.

Good Morning Gorgeous stands out for its authenticity, stunning lyrics, and Mary J. Blige’s blueprint, powerful, unapologetic R&B flowing like a written journal.

Entertainment Weekly
On her 15th studio album, the queen of hip-hop soul dives into life as a single lady.

Few have covered the subjects with such detail and conviction as Blige, and the bottom line is that this 14th proper album of hers combines nuanced performances and succinct writing like none other.

The Young Folks
Listeners are in for a good time with thirteen R&B tracks, hearty vocals filled with color, and hip-hop influences sprinkled throughout.
Spectrum Culture

Good Morning Gorgeous reaffirms the legacy she’s left the last three decades, even if the album isn’t the most intoxicating in her catalog.

Rolling Stone
It’s an album full of emotional tumult as well as joy and optimism.

A record that exudes charm and grace, ‘Good Morning Gorgeous’ revels in the stature of Mary J Blige, while also presenting exhilarating new ingredients.

The sheer strength and breadth of Mary J. Blige’s voice is like comfort food. Her 14th studio album mixes soaring, soulful affirmations with some confusing collaborations.
After 30 years as the Queen of hip-hop/soul, the Yonkers legend has gone back to her roots for an inspiring 15th album.

This is gonna go hand in hand with Saba & Amber Mark's albums for making me pretty happy and strive to love myself more and have fun. Here With Me is great since I genuinely don't think .Paak has missed on a feature once, Dave East starts a bit rocky on his verse but I was surprised he linked with a pop queen, and the three stretch run from Amazing to the title track make me happy, especially knowing that Mary is happy and comfortable with herself. Falling in Love & Fivio's track are ... read more

‘Good Morning Gorgeous’ is based off a more minimalist R&B. The instruments are very vivid and Mary’s vocals are fierce but tame. That makes for a very pleasant listen but often unremarkable. Still, it leaves me with a good kind of wanting more and I’m glad to see her so content at this point of her career.

Preferred the rap tracks more than the R&B tracks, which flooded the album.

fav tracks: rent money, amazing, come see about me

such a strong opener and closer with junks flying over first half and questionable "on top", eyeroll.
