Unlike the scalding and sweaty soundscapes of their debut, Tindersticks present its sonic shadow, the despondent figure aching with a bottle of booze on the darkest corner of the saloon, which might just also be an abattoir for the lost and weary. One of the most visual albums I've heard.
They are able to create just such a dark and moody atmosphere. Unique vocal stylings for sure and wonderful orchestral arrangements. The only problem with their first few albums is that they can be a bit of an endurance test to get through.
This has a far more nocturnal vibe to the first album, they're almost 'day' followed by 'night'.
This one's nearly as good too.
Our beloved friends are here, again, to guide us to the other side, where real beauty tears apart every possible sentiment and blossoms.
Don't hesitate to participate, it's a unique experience.
