This album makes me want to make music, even if I doubt I could ever come close to it

The Lonesome Crowded West to me is about being stuck in a place you dislike, one that constantly seems to be changing for the worse. That feeling of being trapped in part by your own familiarity, and the feeling of being surrounded by so many people, yet still somehow being alone runs through the album's core. There is not a wasted moment here, it is truly an album that encompasses so ... read more

A FLAWLESSLY FLAWED ALBUM

Incredible indie rock gem, with some of the craziest, saddest and even goofiest songs ever penned. Not one track I don't love, could put any of them on anytime, even the 11 minute "Truckers' Atlas" they really knew to keep a groove going for periods, with a lot songs having words for just a couple minutes and then the rest of the time they're just jamming out, they keep it engaging. Another thing I absolutely love about this album (and their debut) is all ... read more
