The work of a man who, having assimilated an army of influences - Captain Beefheart and Sly Stone for sure, but everyone from Elvis to Zappa to Red Crayola are all lost in here somewhere - has managed to create an entirely new noise out of the wreckage. And wreckage is what this album is all about.

The title says it all. From the otherworldly opener ”Can’t Help Falling in Love,” to the narcotized 16-minute closing track, ”Cop Shoot Cop,” Ladies and Gentlemen, We’re Floating in Space is beautifully weightless and way out.

Floating In Space requires a touch of patience and a desire to probe its depths, but the reward is well worth the investment.

Hardly the stuff of halcyon trances. Both ethereal and earthy, Ladies and Gentleman We Are Floating in Space doesn't try to hide its uglier aspects – which, in the end, is what makes it so damn gorgeous.

It’s very unfortunate how this album got completely sidelined and overshadowed by the mainstream popularity of Radiohead’s first magnum opus “OK Computer”, being both released on the same date of June 16th 1997. However I urge you to give this album a ... read more
Classic Review!

The instrumentation on this record is truly gorgeous and the laid back vocals add lots of needed charisma to this already great piece of music. The opening title track is a great opener as it sets the album off perfectly. The vocals are absolutely great and the instrumentals are astonishing to say the least. The next track “Come Together” is another great cut off this album and it’s able to remain consistent until the song “Home of the Brave” and ... read more
