It’s great to hear gorgeous, undeniably beautiful, captivating and colorful albums like this one from time to time. It’s a shame that The Unicorns never dropped another album since, but at least this serves as both a beautiful start and an undeniably impressive end (for now, at least).

What a fun album! Generally Allmusic is so on the ball, but not this time. The story goes that Nick “Diamonds” Thorburn and Alden “Ginger” Penner had a true to life love/hate relationship back when this came out. There’s some really fun moments like “Jellybones” but for the most part its meh. Idk, the strange whisper singing makes it kind of hard for me to listen to it. I do appreciate the strange mellow value a lot of it provides, but it just feels…awkward most of the time.
