A solid peak for the band. Fusing absolutely mind melting shredding and speed with a dark brutal delivery that is equal parts heavy as it is flashy. Aspiring to technical heights while staying loose in the pocket. The production is old school and has a bit of dust to it, but the band rises above the occasion. A hidden Death Metal Gem.
fucking killer album. less deathcore-ish than their last but they substitute their heavy metalcore for some of death metal’s best riffs. it’s pure brutal shit, but it manages to throw in some great technicality on some songs (the solo before the whole album ends is fantastic).
Deformity isn't commonly known as one of the best "proto-deathcore" bands but I believe they should be regarded as such. This album goes to show why. First of all the production, the production on this mf is absolutely fantastic. It manages to keep the old school death metal feel wonderfully, while at the same time I can ABSOLUTELY see how this would influence deathcore in the future. I'm not a huge fan of deathcore but this, this is wonderful
