Stumbled across this record and really, really enjoyed it. Cat Power's composition and lyricism is top notch. It's pensive but has a lot of patience.

Rating: Outstanding to Exceptional (92).

An entrancing (if depressing) song cycle that yes, reminds me a little of Will Oldham and Bill Callahan in places. Some old school Nick Drake flavour here and there too.

She was really channeling something back in '98.

☆☆☆☆ ~ Astoundingly virtuous album. The carefully crafted production is ecstasy to my ears. It's a fascinating piece sculptured with a lushly quality sound design and very well conceived concept.

La delicada visión de alguien que consolidaría a tantas mujeres en el indie. Un garage rock glitch pop, manchado del dream y folk de una manera tan perfectamente precediendo a su futuro R&B. Una visión melancólica traducida en música
