Produced entirely by Navy Blue, the New York rapper’s latest is one of his greatest. A wise and angry Wiki reveals what it’s like to come of age in the city: the way it shapes, hardens, prematurely ages you.

The Needle Drop

Wiki shines as a solo performer and lyricist on the Navy Blue-produced Half God.

Beats Per Minute

Where Wiki’s last album Oofie jumped around in styles with different beatmakers, Half God feels like one complete vision. With the marriage of a producer on a hot streak and a rapper who sounds revitalized, it’s a welcome addition to both artists’ catalogs.

I remember really enjoying No Mountains in Manhattan, the 2017 debut album from New York rapper Wiki and for some reason I missed out on all his other projects since, but I made sure to fix that by checking out his latest Half God and i’m quickly reminded of his appeal. With another NY native Navy Blue handling tasteful production duties, Wiki delves into a variety of issues ranging from his personal tales of growing up in the city he loves all the while noticing the changes it’s ... read more
Production from Navy Blue is the prefect fit for Wiki, who I've always really liked since the Ratking days and "Lil Me" became a favorite record of his at the time too. To me his content has gotten weaker and weaker since OOFIE, but there are several tracks here he's at the top of his game, All I Need (feat. Earl Sweatshirt) being the absolute best.
This is Wiki’s fourth full length LP and it’s entirely produced by Navy Blue. The singles leading up to it were great, so i’m not really surprised at how much i like it. It was probably my most hyped up release of 2021. Navy’s production was beautiful, some of his best instrumentals to date. Wiki here, sounds like a seasoned vet, he’s more toned down than his earlier releases. He’s lyrically more serious and introspective which i quite enjoyed. I also loved ... read more
"In the city, you can't see the difference between a pigeon and a dove"

I've been to New York before, but I wish I went to THIS New York, Wiki's perception of the city is heartwarming and soul-stirring. Navy Blue's Dilla-Esque production matched with Wiki's immersive attention-to-detail makes for a lovely album experience!

Wiki's dusty, nostalgic approach updates classic East Coast Hip Hop for a new audience, mixing the sounds of the golden 90s with the invigorating wave created by ... read more
Wiki has been an interesting rapper to follow. While I've never been blown away by his output, the heart and sincerity oozes from his music, and beneath the gritty Nuyorican veneer, there's affection, family and a tight inner circle that weaves its way into his lyrical fabric. Half God is the most realised project of Wiki's that achieves this, and while it can be a jumbled mess of ideas just like its cover art, Wiki himself is rarely to blame as his definitely improved pen game is masterfully ... read more
