Yes, it's probably the least memorable Beatles album, has some great songs, some good ones, and some not as good ones. It's a nice little album overall, but it pales in comparison to everything else on The Beatles' discography.

This is pretty much the sound I expected when I started their discography. While I don't dislike it, this album didn't really do much for me. It was fun for the most part, but it became extremely repetitive fairly quickly, and this is completely forgettable.
However, I am more excited to go further into their catalog as I have heard that the next few records are some of their best works, so I guess that's a plus.

THIS IS UNDERRATED! I actually love, love, LOVE this album. The 1-2-3 of No Reply, I'm A Loser, and Baby's In Black is just Lennon perfection. You can tell Lennon wasn't feeling too jolly at this point in time. The giant spotlight they were under 24/7 was clearly beginning to get to him. He was feeling much more self-conscious and insecure. That leads to some excellent Lennon led tracks. There are some covers on here, but they are done really well. Don't even get me started on Eight Days A ... read more

Decent

There's more of a variety in sound on this record compared to their three releases before. You can tell that they're still transitioning between styles and moods, but a large fraction of it falls short on here.

Color: Green
FAV TRACKS: I'll Follow the Sun, No Reply, Eight Days a Week, Every Little Thing
LEAST FAV: What You're Doing

Like Please Please Me, it's enjoyable, but a chore to get through with everything being so repetitive. Not to say it's a bad album, god no, I mean I gave it a strong 6. But there just aren't enough solid tracks to keep me engaged throughout the whole album.
