The Independent
It’s a terrific, family-friendly smorgasbord of a record that delivers all the classic ABBA flavours.
The Irish Times
Confirming their expertise in presenting sadness as happiness, their ninth and final album comes with an emotional familiarity for songs we’ve never heard before.
Rolling Stone

Instead of chasing trends, they stick to the classic sound they perfected years ago, the sound that has kept influencing modern pop ever since. As they once sang, the history book on the shelf is always repeating itself.

The Arts Desk

Voyage could have seen them crash onto the rocks and sink, but it has songs that can match, in maturity, Abba’s achievements of up to half a century before. Immaculately produced, too.

The Forty-Five
ABBA's final 'Voyage' is a thoroughly entertaining and poignant homecoming. Their return, 40 years in the making, does not disappoint.
God Is in the TV
It’s a very good final chapter on the Abba story, with a number of songs that deserve to join their canon of perfect pop.

ABBA have pulled off a very good reunion album with Voyage despite the odds and expectations. The bar remains where they left it nearly 40 years ago.

Beats Per Minute
A 37-minute orbit around some of the things that made ABBA so successful in the first place and so enduring in the years following their low-key exit from centre stage: songs packed with hooks upon hooks, lyrics that hone in on the tragic drama of adult foibles, precision production, and first-class vocals and harmonies.
Returning with their first new album in 40 years, the Swedish pop titans attempt the seemingly impossible: balancing the lure of nostalgia with the pull of the present day. Amazingly, they pull it off.
Spectrum Culture
ABBA’s first record in 40 years only reaffirms their deadly accurate pop sensibilities and timeless appeal.

Voyage is recognizably ABBA music, a quality that's simultaneously thrilling, disorienting, and a bit corny.

Overall, Voyage is an odd mixed-bag of styles and subject matter, not all of which completely work. But then, if we’re really honest, hasn’t this in fact been what has always made an ABBA album special and enduring – the refusal to stick to a limited formula even if you get something you don’t like?

The Young Folks
The album is nostalgic and original at the same time, something truly needed in a time where everything is so uncertain.
There are some bumpy moments along the way, but this ‘Voyage’ is a nostalgia trip worth taking.
The Telegraph

Voyage is a gentle OAP cruise around the backwaters of Abba’s reputation.

Evening Standard
Of course it’s wonderful, miraculous even, to see and hear them again, but these aren’t the songs people will clamour for when those concerts begin.
The Line of Best Fit

Whilst it may not be anything new, it’s still classic ABBA gifting the listeners with pure pleasure and enjoyment ... Unfortunately though, as a solidified body of work, it’s lacking.

The Observer
The return of the Swedish super troupers has plenty of bittersweet erudition, plus a good dollop of mass-market cheese.
The Sydney Morning Herald

The bad news is that there’s a bunch of utter schlock here.

A frustratingly slight piece of fan service.
The Needle Drop

While the group's return after four decades is admirable, there's sadly something missing on Voyage.

The Guardian
After 40 years, the makers of once-sparkling pop are back – but the glamour promised by this album’s two terrific singles goes horribly unfulfilled.

You know what? I’m glad there’s new Abba music in my lifetime, and the first in forty years no less. Seriously, I think it’s great that the world has new Abba.

I mean I don’t need new Abba, and I don’t love it, and their age kinda shows, and I probably won’t listen to any of these songs ever again. But I’m happy we have new Abba nonetheless

Favourite: Just A Notion
Worst: Little Things

1. I Still Have Faith In You - 6
[tbh I just find this to be kinda boring. The chorus is really repetitive, lyrically nothing it too great about it as well. The production and the instrumental kinda saves this track for me really.]

2. When You Danced With Me - 5
[Pretty similar to the last track actually. The concepts explored lyrically seem to be quite basic as well as the chorus I found to be quite weak. The instrumental almost felt annoying ... read more

If you were to tell me before I listened to this that it would be one of my favorites of 2021, I would have your head examined. ABBA, the old 80’s band that made Dancing Queen, making one of the best albums in a completely stacked 2021? Correct. It’s funny how things work like that, but I genuinely believe that Voyage is one of the sweetest, most wholesome albums of 2021, if not ever. ABBA returns from their near 40 year slumber and prove they still got it. Voyage made me feel ... read more

Known for being very successful in the 70s/80s back after 40 ... read more
