The brilliant and unassuming debut from the young UK musician and composer is a benchmark in ambient jazz featuring outstanding players and delicately woven arrangements.
I don’t know much about Caribbean-Belgian composer, producer and musician Nala Sinephro, but I do know she lives in London and is contributing to the ever growing jazz movement happening there at the moment. Geeking out so much now that I have found ANOTHER jazz album of this year. This one is a mix of nu jazz and ambient to create an atmosphere that is peaceful and calming. Every time I want to go to sleep, I would put this on to clear my mind and lose myself into the land of dreams. I am unfamiliar with Nala's work but what I have just heard from her is very impressive.
Easily one of the most relaxing albums of 2021, Nala Sinephro shows an impressive display of fusing NU Jazz and Ambient to create such a mellow and calming experience which is perfected in tone and executed and although this style of music I have to be in a certain mood for, when you are in the mood it excels and with such a stressful few years recently Space 1.8 is kinda what we needed.

Beautiful ambient and electronic influenced jazz record. Space 4 has become one of my favorite individual jazz songs of all-time. Nubya Garcia played her ass off on sax on it. one of my fav jazz records to come out recently
Space 1.8 brings a very visionary take on the cinematic, transformative, and meditative jazz composures.
