The easy melodic hooks that drew fans to the Lumineers in the first place remain, but the combination of stronger material and looser performances make for a strong fourth outing.
The band are masters of catchy choruses that never stray into being corny.
Cohesive in its ups and downs, it feels more personal in its specificity as the lyrics become void of location but really double down on emotions. So much of it sounds like the kind of songs that would soundtrack big cinema moments.
The nuance is altogether lost ... like most of their discography, it'll win you over with its scrappy, can-do charm.
Their latest won't surprise anyone, but its upbeat feel and finely wrought prettiness will satisfy Luministas for sure.

People like the clown on these guys but this record is honestly really solid. Loved it.
