Overall, it’s a solidly good record from the now-indie veterans and shows a band not bothering to rest on their laurels even if they know what makes a good White Lies song by now.

‘As I Try Not to Fall Apart’ is a subtle evolution for White Lies - progress, after a while spent spinning their wheels.

Having perhaps accepted that recapturing their late-00s hype is beyond their control, White Lies are happier pushing their creative capacity with new styles and arrangements.

White Lies is here with their 6th studio album and I couldn't be happier. I was excited about the album because I liked the released singles. This new WL album... Is a HUGE ok.

I always have this conflict with White Lies, they're good musicians, Harry vocals reminds me to the great Paul Banks from Interpol, very deep and emotional voice, every single of any album is great, they choose very well, BUT, when time time to listen a record comes, it doesn't work all the time.

My biggest issue with WL is that, when you listen this album song by song, they're pretty good songs of post-punk revival and alternative rock songs, my god, this ... read more

There are a lot of records this year that stop the movement further, White Lies - very high hopes were pinned, but I was disappointed in this record, as always everything is fine-tuned, there are good ideas and several obvious singles, but this is more of a backward movement than forward.

So my original review of this kinda sucked. I had only listened through the album like once and forgot about it after I reviews it. In that initial review, I said that the sum was greater than the parts, and the experience as a whole was pretty solid. Honestly, on further listens, I've done a complete 180. I love so many parts of this album, but they amount to just a lackluster experience.

Really everything here is done well. The production is a joy to listen to, I absolutely adore the ... read more

En su línea habitual, quizá un poco mejor que sus dos últimos trabajos. No obstante, es un grupo y un tipo de música que no puede sorprender, sí lo hizo con su primer trabajo pero luego es más de lo mismo.
