It's dense with detail, but leisurely paced, creating its own dark, haunting world. Pink Floyd may have better albums than Dark Side of the Moon, but no other record defines them quite as well as this one

The music that comprises The Dark Side Of The Moon are compositions that simply describing by mere words do them no justice. It's an album that must be heard by any admirer of not just Progressive rock, but music in general.

"The Dark Side of the Moon" ... transformed Pink Floyd from ambitious art-house hipsters to international superstars, while influencing virtually every rock band of the past forty years.

The Dark Side of the Moon is a fine album with a textural and conceptual richness that not only invites, but demands involvement.

Instructions for use: Dear AOTY newcomer, this album MUST be your first contact with "old music", your very first "rock classic". Or one of your first, anyway. If you're under 16, it's better. Are you ready for your first auditory orgasm, are you ready to take an interstellar slap straight from the 70's galaxy?

So, you're discovering "The Dark Side of the Moon", and you're going to love it. But like, you're gonna be fucking into it, though. (This ... read more

Now I'm a bit conflicted on this album. Sure, I see many of the things that people like about it, and I certainly did like most of my time listening to it, I just don't feel like its the soul-transcending, boundary-breaking and mind-bending album that so many people say it is.
The music is pretty decent. It's a very slow album, and I found myself kind of bored on some of these tracks. Sure, there are moments where all the stars align and I see a true masterpiece, such as the chorus on "Us ... read more

Sonically and conceptually, "The Dark Side of the Moon" is one of the greatest albums ever made. Everything about this album is detailed, rich, haunting, beautiful, fuck it, every adjective! I want to go more into detail about this album, but that would spoil too much! There is something I want to confess, though. Despite being their most iconic work, I wouldn't say this is Pink Floyd's best work.
