NME
While this album might not immediately click with those who loved ‘Over It’s R&B pop hits, it’s worth remembering that ‘Still Over It’ is primarily for Summer Walker. In her time of need, she turned to her only safe haven, music, to find the closure she so desired.

Clash
As the evening comes to a close for this writer, this album serves up Summer Walker’s best work yet. It’s brutal, yet romantic, it’s fun, yet flirty, it’s everything any listener could be wanting. A rollercoaster of emotions and she’s not even finished yet.

Beats Per Minute

With new sonic avenues being explored, a wider array of producers, and her unmistakably transparent lyrics, Summer has created a phenomenal album that is top-tier confessional R&B.

AllMusic

To an extent greater than that of Over It, Still Over It exhibits Summer Walker's knack for writing with detail and specificity while relating to a broad range of listeners.

80
HipHopDX

Still Over It puts Walker into an elite tier of R&B artists who are able to balance personal vendettas and artistic execution. She pulls no punches, commanding attention through her ability to integrate her drama into tracks through beautiful storytelling.

The Line of Best Fit

Still Over It plays to the Atlanta singer’s strengths, striking a similar balance between club-ready anthems and delicate acoustic arrangements to that of its predecessor.

Exclaim!
Walker's latest is the first step beyond the predilection of her genre.
80
Rolling Stone
The breakout R&B singer’s second album is sultry and cathartic, processing bad relationships and new beginnings.
70
The Needle Drop

While Still Over It is kind of bloated, it shows quite a bit of growth from Summer Walker since her debut.

68
Pitchfork

With her latest album, the singer cements herself as one of R&B’s most relatable storytellers, with an ear for melodrama that becomes monotonous. The best moments capture her soulfulness alongside her fury.

Summer Walker's 2019 debut, "Over It", demonstrated that she had the potential to become a force in R&B, but failed to showcase anything interesting about her music other than the fact that it was doing big numbers. The songs on that album are generic, predictable, underdeveloped and very, very boring. Now she's back with the follow up to that record, her sophomore LP "Still Over It". Fortunately, this one is everything that the previous wanted to be but wasn't. At its ... read more

While I believe this album is a bit bloated (Dat Right There, Switch a N***a Out, can be removed, and I'm not as big of a fan of the later half than the first half), it remains a solid R&B album and a step up for Summer Walker. The first 5 tracks are good, the features work well here (I like the SZA and Ari Lennox features, Cardi B's narration is great for the intro), though the Lil Durk feature doesn't really add much on "Toxic", and "Dat Right There" collab with ... read more
