Ill try to review this again without getting hate from various alt accounts. I didnt enjoy this ep that much. I LOVED how the bass sounded, LOVED, LOVED, LOVED it was so juicy and good. I didnt mind some of the songs progressions and the guitar wasn't that bad. However, I didn't like the lyrics at all, or the singing, or how the drums were mixed. This is an improvement over their last effort, but by no means amazing. It is a mixed bag.

This is my opinion. If you don't like it, keep scrolling. ... read more

Lovejoy are back with their highly anticipated second EP entitled Pebble Brain. Does this EP trump their debut, or does it fall on its face in the water? Well, it sort of does both.

Are You Alright? Lovejoy’s debut EP has grown on me quite a bit since I first rated and reviewed it. Is it now perfect? No, not at all but I have grown to enjoy things I didn’t before, songs like Sex Sells especially. Are You Alright? Was also a quite compact EP at only four songs, all of which were ... read more

2021 Catch-Up #4

I feel like this isn’t a secret to anyone who knows me, but Wilbur Soot’s EP “Your City Gave Me Asthma” is one of my top 50 projects of all time. And I can’t exactly explain why. But to me, it was carried all by the combinations of these elements to ... read more

It's alright. Perfume goes pretty damn hard, the rest of the album is okay. There are a few other highs but really this album doesn't do enough for me to care. If all of the songs were as good as Perfume, this would be really good. And I know that this is the direction Wilbur wants to go rather than Your City Gave Me Asthma, but it hurts me not to mention how good that album was compared to Lovejoy so far. I do believe that Lovejoy could end up having a very impressive discography in the ... read more

It's good.
Not great, not amazing, but not bad or outright terrible. Pebble Brain feels like more of a jumping point for Lovejoy than anything else, showing a lot of promise for the bands future.

Some tunes and riffs really hook me in; the synth in Model Buses comes to mind, the bass is great in basically every single track, and you can tell that the band members all have a lot of great, genuine chemistry. What holds these songs back, as everyone else on this website has pointed out already, ... read more

fun fact i didnt listen to this band for a long time because dreamsmp. its good i like it but god idk why but "oh yeah you gonna cry" is so pretentious i know its probably genuine but it feels so exaggerated and flex-y and i do not like it
