Ok, the concept is pretty ridiculous and the album is way too long, but this album does contain some of Amos' most incisive lyrics. Too often, though, the effectiveness of these lyrics gets lost amid the blustery rock arrangements. Case in point: Almost Rosey. Check out solo renditions of this track on youtube and the song is transformed into a much more affecting piece. If Amos had slimmed the album down to half its current length, it would have perhaps been regarded as one of her best.
