How interesting to watch these twelve, strange, little girls growing up and reclaiming their identity ... a fact which can be proven self-destructive if you are careless.

The covers that appeared as B-Sides on many of Amos' early singles were often startlingly good. Here, the results are more mixed. Eminem's ''97 Bonnie & Clyde' is particularly chilling, Lloyd Cole's 'Rattlesnakes' nicely understated, and Velvet Underground's 'New Age' has a crepuscular, sinister undertone.
