The constant switching makes the album land more like a compilation than a cohesive artistic statement, but there's plenty to enjoy in Ethereal's disparate moods.

At the very least, Ethereal tries offering a little something for everyone.

Ethereal isn’t terrible, but it also isn’t really anything special either. It’s just decent.

I have never been impressed with SNOT’s music before, so coming into this I wasn’t expecting much. And while I still don’t love this, I do see more potential here and think this is overall pretty decent. The production is solid, and the features aren’t bad either. $NOT himself is probably the weakest part of this though, as he just doesn’t really have ... read more

$NOT spends 'Ethereal' experimenting with different styles, similar to how Gunna did on 'DS4EVER', seeming more like a mixtape than an album as unlike 'Beautiful Havoc', this just isn't a complete body of work. $NOT's grown on me a great amount on me over the last two years and although I see a huge amount of potential, it's frustrating to be a fan cause of how he seems to be doing his best to not reach his potential, halting his growth commercial wise but for good reason as projects like this ... read more

'Ethereal' tries to do a little bit of everything, it's got some cutesy moody lofi tracks like 'BLUE MOON', some cold aggressive bangers like 'Doja' and hyperpop influenced songs on '5AM' and 'ALONE'. And to this album's credit, its production is quite good most of the time, and the features, from Rocky to Kevin Abstract and Joey Bada$$, are all quite solid.

All of that being said, I still don't really see what ... read more

wish $not would pick a genre and keep to it, or at least structure the album in a way where we don't go from really interesting ballad melodies to hard as fuck songs, some songs blend and while it offers a bit of everything, it doesn't mean that's a good thing

Doja is a banger. $NOT fails to deliver at other tracks.
