This has been one of the most engaging and interesting first listens in a while. I'm a huge Alc fan, but I didn't even think he could compose something as raw and interesting as this. The Bravery alone just sounds like a mix of Alien: Isolation & Subnautica, like you're on the loading screen for one of the coolest games ever. I'm very intrigued and definitely hyped for the film.
very chill and atmospheric score.
i love how even though The Alchemist is a hip-hop producer, he isn’t afraid to step out of his lane. this EP is a great testament to his talents and should be regarded as a bar to what he can accomplish. yeah pretty for sure, but extremely derivative as well. a bit of daniel lopatin and sometimes a little of thom yorke's ambient stuff here, but mostly the alchemist doesn't have a distinct sound here. the only highlight here is "the bravery" with its speedy (near black metal) drums. other than that it's just good background music.
favs: the bravery
