I feel bad, Walk The Moon is an incredibly fun and joyful pop rock band that made the fatal mistake of making a song so big and so evocative of classic huge pop anthems that they basically wrote themselves into being a one hit wonder. So it’s been four years since the last Walk The Moon album, and I’m not going to say their brand of indie rock has fallen out of favour or lost its lustre beyond the retro style getting driven into the ground by so many festival acts looking for a cash-in. Track 1 Heights: 9/10
Heights has a nice groove and reminds me of 80s synth pop which is clearly what they we’re going for. It however still has a Walk The Moon feel and a nice bounce to it. I like the singing on this track and it’s a good opener and set up for this album from what I’ve heard singles wise. Some quite catchy indie pop tunes. "Fire In Your House" seems strong.
