The Line of Best Fit

Motordrome is a multifaceted delight and an early contender for pop album of the year.

The Skinny

The third album from Danish pop star MØ is an electro-pop selection box with moments of real brilliance.

Danish superstar MØ’s third record is, perhaps unsurprisingly, a more subdued dive into her world-conquering brand of scandipop.
MØ sound might have evolved to incorporate both her previous material and her teenage tastes, but this could be her best album yet.
Having taken some time away, reinforced by the isolation of recent global developments, on ‘Motordrome’ she returns fresh and reinvigorated. No longer simply living to survive, MØ is having fun being herself.
A clinical, finessed pop record, ‘Motordrome’ utilises its 10 track span to broach a number of fresh ideas.

Her delivery has a paradoxically disaffected energy to it, and her third album Motordrome showcases this on radio-friendly tunes with quirky production.

The Danish singer-songwriter’s powerhouse voice can wring genuine catharsis out of even the gaudiest pop, but on her third album, the muted, anonymous production too often holds her back.

The Danish artist's gear shift of a third record doesn't always hit the mark – but its nu-disco influences offer up an intriguing new sound.

The Arts Desk

While a pensive and occasionally doleful step sideways from what has come before, a certain energy is lacking in Motordrome's execution.

The Observer

The Danish star’s third album keeps the killer hooks coming.

The Independent
Tracks have enough energy to keep limbs twitching, but not enough force to pull bystanders from the walls.
Slant Magazine

MØ’s Motordrome has a way of getting your attention and failing to keep it.

'Motordrome' talvez possa ser visto como um álbum básico em que MØ não mostra todo seu potencial, entretanto mesmo sendo repleto de obviedades, o disco consegue se tornar bom ao trazer ótimas canções pop.

As letras se mostram como um destaque, trazendo temas interessantes e que são bem abordados nas composições, "Live To Survive" é a canção que mais se destaca nisso, fala de uma ótima ... read more

Motordrome is a comfortable and conventional album, and that's perhaps its biggest problem. In MØ's third project, she doesn't risk much. Synthpop and Electro-pop come together in front of rhythmic synths and are evident in a recording with very little originality, often sounding like a compilation of other artists, such as Sia and The Chainsmokers. With a song structure that runs through almost the entire album, MØ tends to start each track directly with the chorus in order to ... read more

Some very nice songs on here but wasn't really my style. Still appreciate a few songs off of here though.

The Independent and Slant Magazine reviews are pretty accurate, and I hate to agree with critics. 'Motordrome' is the silliest album MØ has ever put out. It does have a good production overall, kinda impossible to stay quiet as a statue during this body of work with these danceable beats, but definitely it ain't MØ at her best. It's just filled with bland pop tracks and boring lyrics that makes the album seems longer than it really is – even the bridges are awful when they ... read more
