Where Myth Becomes Memory is the sound of a band continuing to push the envelope in all directions. It’s an album that becomes more rewarding with every listen.
Post-hardcore luminaries Rolo Tomassi may have perfected their sound on Where Myth Becomes Memory, but their evolution is far from over.
Where Myth Meets Memory is the slickest, most confident tracklist Rolo Tomassi have ever laid down, and the only real candidate for their hitherto non-existent single-defining-work.
Art-metal heroes Rolo Tomassi uncover fresh layers of delicacy and devastation at the point Where Myth Becomes Memory.
Where Myth Becomes Memory is one of their most ambitious and cinematic albums to date.
While I really enjoy the front-to-back visceral tunes, like “Cloaked,” as well as the solely soft power jams, like “Closer,” I can’t get past the way this album attempts to combine the two. The collision often feels like two different songs that have no business conjoining. “To Resist Forgetting” is a prime example. Rolo Tomassi feels the need to constantly interrupt their raw, brutal atmosphere and riffs with these cheesy, uninspired melodic choruses ... read more
Could've done with better mixing and some more interesting ideas but 'Where Myth Becomes Memory' is satisfactory if a little unmemorable.
Best Tracks: Drip and Prescience
Worst Track: Labyrinthine
Rolo Tomassi absolutely kill it once again. Production is much better here than on their previous record. This is just metal/mathcore/screamo done very well without reinventing the wheel. When it's this captivating I'll gladly take it.
Schizophrenic as anything. This record doesn’t know what it wants to be: post-hardcore, jangle-pop or gothic Birdie vibes. It’s very weird. “Stumbling” is beautiful though.

Rolo Tomassi had a real daunting task in front of them; finding some way to follow-up 2018's Time Will Die and Love Will Bury It. It was difficult to tell where one song ended and another began, making this record a cinematic, ... read more
This album is really frustrating, I really love the first 3 tracks on this album, I think they are the perfect mix of more Melodic sounds and Harsher sounds. But after those 3 tracks this album falls of a cliff and it clashes horribly. I mean the actual quality of the songs are alright but they just sound messy because they don't sound in place. It is a shame because this album could've been a lot more than it was.
