The Needle Drop

Fawn is a breath of fresh air for modern screamo.

All told, Fawn may be a bit more subdued and less frenetic than the typical screamo album, but it’s all the better for it.

It would be kind of confusing if I didn't like this honestly. It's a fem nb-fronted screamo band that both draws on great influences whilst maintaining their own unique sound.

The particular album I was reminded most of when listening to this is Believes in Patterns by I Would Set Myself On Fire For You (which is a great record that you should also listen to if you want chamber music mixed with your screamo) with similar incorporations of violins, and other beautiful instruments not typically ... read more

This is the way.

It’s been incredibly difficult to find a truly promising Screamo act in modern times. Due to the genre’s nature, it’s so easy to release a record with subpar screams and generic hardcore trappings, slap it on the market and watch the fans eat it up. foxtails are a band that I haven't heard of up until this point, 'fawn' is the first record of theirs that I'm hearing in full and after giving it multiple listens I've come away from it even more impressed every single time I finish it. I'm not that well versed in Screamo personally, there's records over the years that I've heard and loved from bands like Touché Amoré and Shin Guard but I haven't delved that far into the genre and what it has to offer, I will definitely make it ... read more

A great piece of screamo, mixing great guitar, bass, and percussion mixes with sloppily recorded violin and incredible vocals, that set this album apart from the rest.
