The Guardian
It sounds like they’re having a blast.
Rolling Stone
There is a matured pacing and weight to the music and John's vocal performances that make this record one of his finest in its own right.

It’s difficult to conceive of anything Elton could release that would challenge the supremacy of his ‘70s classics, but Wonderful Crazy Night is a strong addition to his already vast musical legacy that ranks ... as one of his finest albums of the last 35 years.

Entertainment Weekly
Nearly five decades after he revolutionized what it means to be a rock star, John’s boundary-pushing days may be long gone, but the sun hasn’t gone down on him just yet.
It sounds good on paper, but the album unfolds as an undifferentiated wash of music, without the big toothsome melodies that have lifted John's music for decades.

Wonderful Crazy Night never lingers in the imagination -- there are no hooks to pull a listener back in for another spin -- but it sounds just fine as it plays.

There are few surprises on this record, and it’s clearly aimed at the mainstream, but he does administer the odd curve-ball at times.

As far as I'm concerned, it's a low point in Elton John's creative career. Within these tracks you'll hear tired, old tropes ... read more

I saw Elton John live at 7 years old, and even I have to admit, this is about as bad as his music gets.
It's upbeat and fun. It's an okay album, good but not exactly would I would expect from Elton John. Favorite songs: "Wonderful Crazy Night", "Looking Up".
