It carries much of the same palette as "Seventeen Seconds", but "Faith" is a step forward for The Cure. The lyrics are once again brilliant... and also kinda suicidal (keep in mind that this was the early 80's), the instrumentation is much moodier and the overall aesthetics and production are top-notch.

Fav Tracks: The Funeral Party, Faith, Doubt, All Cats Are Grey, Primary, The Drowning Man

Least Fav Track: Other Voices

For me, Faith, is the first great album by The Cure even though the band has had moments of brilliance on their previous 2 efforts; A Forest instantly comes to mind, and Faith is quite similar to Seventeen Seconds, for me the almost empty and cold feel this album gives off with it utilization of coldwave gives this album a little more edge over The Cure previous efforts and holding one of the most underrated songs by them Primary.

The bands sound on 'Faith' can be described as everything they did on 'Seventeen Seconds' but even more intense. Everything from the track listing, to the lyrics, production, instrumentals and album art scream dark, depressing and ... read more
