Album swap with @Jakeify - #2

This is the most 1990s a rap album could get.

Yeah I liked this, but if I were to say I was crazy about this, I would be lying. This album features a lot of humor and was definitely an enjoyable listen. However, a lot of it happened to feel good, and just good to me. Luckily, the songs that weren't inconsistent in quality and I found myself enjoying them all, not counting skits. One thing I can really compliment this album on is how their voices all sound very ... read more

This was an album swap with @Jakeify thanks for the Rec!

This is an extremely fun record! What more can I say? :D
Listening to this is simply a very good time! The rapping is dynamic, energetic, zany and all over the place in a good way!
This is also a very smooth album instrumentally! There’s a lot of fantastic jazzy beats that perfectly complement the flows and cadences of the talented rappers of The Pharcyde!

There’s so much personality displayed out of every bar, this album ... read more

YES. FUCK YES

Ok, so I had heard this project about a year ago, and before listening to this, I hadn’t remembered any song from this thing, other than Passin Me By, so I figured that I should give this another listen

Funky and jazzy beats help create an amusing and lighthearted atmosphere, but what really stands out ... read more

Hilarious, hard, fast, and just generally fun to listen to.

Somehow I had never even heard of classic hip hop group The Pharcyde before getting into this album. I was pretty aware of Bootie Brown's work as a solo rapper but other than that, I knew nothing about these guys. And honestly, I am so glad I went into Bizarre Ride II The Pharcyde completely blind because its playful take on 90s jazz rap really surprised me. I found it to be a lot of fun.

Firstly, these beats are terrificly funky and original, making for a memorable sound that lets the ... read more
