Saccharine qualities of girl group plunged into the surreal world of the 80s underground (perhaps the no-wave era in particular). Good lord, this thing is truly a powerhouse.

Rarely have I ever encountered an album that continues to nudge me into its gentle yet slowly building abrasiveness with such ease.
