On ‘Songbook’ The Lazy Eyes are showing off, offering the full kaleidoscope of their insane talent. It’s an invitation into a dreamy utopia of their own invention - and you’ll want to stay.
Their debut album isn't just about wah-wah guitar, motorik drumming, pixie vocals and the psych moves, though. It's packed with fully formed, memorable songs.

The intro came on my autoplay after the new King Gizzard release and I figured I'd listen to the rest of the album and I'm so glad I did. I can't believe this is their debut as they sound so crisp and experienced and pieced together such a consistent and cohesive work. Seriously, the guitar work was sensational and had me floating. Sonically, it reminded me a lot of Toro y Moi's MAHAL and of The Beatles' Magical Mystery Tour. One thing is clear, the Australian psychedelic rock scene is thriving.
