The debut from this 19-year-old British talent is very impressive and easy to listen to even if it’s not particularly trailblazing.
At the turn of the decade, Jake Bugg ruled the British mainstream with his brand of catchy and commercial folk rock. And even now I gotta admit that a few of these tracks hold up nicely! But at the end of the day, it’s pretty bog standard in the genre, and hasn’t really had much in the way of longevity.

Um amigo me pediu para ouvir esse disco, e o que mais me chamou atenção foi o timbre dele bem diferenciado, na primeira impressão eu estranhei bastante, mas ao decorrer do disco fui me acostumando.

Feels like some classic folky, country rock & roll pop album thing. I feel like Jake Bugg doesn’t get enough credit for how unique he was when he came onto the scene. If I told you this album came out in 2012, would you believe me? I always heard Lightning Bolt out of nowhere when I was going out my life growing up, and I never realised who it was by.
