Easily in contention for the greatest rock album of all time.


I get why this is a classic album and considered by some to be the greatest rock album of all time. It's one of my favorite classic rock records. It has extremely iconic (and amazing in every way) riffs from Jimmy Page, iconic vocals for Plant (unique and fit the band's sound so well), fantastic drumming from Bohnam (When the Levee Breaks sounds too god damn amazing for the early 70s, it's a top 50 songs of all time for me), and well, average bass playing. Although Stairway to Heaven is the best song I never want to hear of all time and that Black Dog is everything that makes Led Zeppelin special, the album as a whole isn't.
Rock and Roll might be one of the best songs from said genre and The Battle of Evermore sure has a magical atmosphere to it, but then Misty Mountain Hop comes in and you wonder if this is the least interesting song Led Zeppelin has ever put to tape.
