This tries to sound catchy, but fails.


As far as radio rock goes, this is a solid release. Certainly much better than the Muse & Lumineers tracks this year. It's got a nice funky groove backing a nice anthemic chorus. The song doesn't particularly take the underlying ideas to any new or astonishing heights, but it's a pleasant and enjoyable song, a far cry from the trash a lot of their contemporaries are putting out.


Bastille has put out another song as they prepare to release “Give Me The Future.” While I have enjoyed much of their past work, their output thus far for this album, including this track, feels lazy, mediocre, and not really for me, which is a shame. To me, this song is about being immersed in the present with someone else not worried about what tomorrow might bring alongside letting yourself shut down the thoughts that can interfere with enjoying the here and now.
