Adventures Beyond the Ultraworld is the album that defined the ambient house movement.

Reality is inside a pair of headphones overflowing with The Orb. Life will never be the same again. The flotation tank beckons.

The album was seemingly designed to take its listeners progressively farther and farther away from their respective spots on the planet.

Man, I was wanting to like this more than I actually did. I do think it's a good album, no doubt about that. I enjoy quite a lot of the soundscapes introduced on this album and it's clear a good amount of work went into the production, but there's just a few things about this album that kind of held it back for me. Back side of the moon is often the killer when I'm deciding on if I want to listen to this album, but when I'm in the mood Supernova to Spanish Castles hits so smoothly. Though preferably back side of the moon and supernova would be shortened by 4ish minutes each. The dub samples throughout the project are awesome. I'm a sucker for this shit.

I have been meaning to give this a shot for a while. I finally sat down and gave it a chance, and I have to say, this record is such an esthetically pleasing album that feels very rewarding of it's long duration. I'm new to these guys and this album is an awesome first impression. The production and progressive sections all make you feel like you're actually travelling to an unknown area of the galaxy, especially the highlight of this album "Spanish Castles In Space," a relaxing tune ... read more
