Not everything works ... but Big Science is a landmark release in the New York art scene of the '80s, and quite possibly the best art rock album of the decade.
Big Science, of course, can't provide the multidimensional, operatic excitement of one of Anderson's performances. But even by itself, the music and recitation packs plenty of power.
