KRS is still very strong here but coming off the first four BDP albums I was a little disappointed by this. I have mixed feelings on a good portion of the production and even on tracks that are good I feel like he's approached a lot of the more serious subject matter better in the past. On its own merits though this is still a very good album and is absolutely an essential listen, though I Got Next is still my go to solo KRS.
Return Of The Boom Bap is one of those underrated albums in the golden age of hip hop, released in 1993 by KRS-One, a rapper valued for his punchy lyrics and eccentric style that accompanied inventive rappers like Busta Rhymes or Ol' Dirty Bastard in those exaggerated and comical deliveries.

I think the people who know me, know how I feel about the 80s sound. I personally think it isn't for me, with some exceptions, KRS-One is one of those exceptions.
