Big fan of Wire: Always interesting, never 'overtly commercial' (though they do dip their toes in catchy pop stylings now and then) and yet always entertaining... They were unlucky not to attract a bigger fanbase from 86 and I'd rate their 86-91 recordings as highly as any other rock, pop or dance acts delving into experimental soundscapes.
